Google has been doing some great work lately. My research committee is working on all non-sensitive documents with Google Documents and Skype over the break. We can talk and edit the same document. For free.

We also share a common calendar that we can all add items to.

It's kinda like MS Exchange, but you don't have to use fucking Outlook or spend thousands of dollars.
